How to use MyFireplaceVideo
- Pick a scene. Choose from eight video scenes in the control bar. MyFireplaceVideo opens on Cabin, with Fire Only listed first if you want just the flames.
- Turn on the sound. Tap the speaker button to fade in the crackling. Browsers need one tap before any site can play audio.
- Go fullscreen. Press the fullscreen button or the F key. Leave the mouse still and the controls fade away.
Putting the fireplace on your TV
Most smart TVs have a web browser. Open efireplace.com, choose a scene and press fullscreen. You can also cast a Chrome or Edge tab to a Chromecast, or plug a laptop into the TV with an HDMI cable. For the most realistic look, dim the room lights and turn the TV's brightness down a little. A real fire is never as bright as a screen.

Does the video repeat?
Yes, each scene is a real HD video clip that loops, from about 10 seconds up to a minute and a half depending on the scene. Shorter clips repeat more often, so pick a longer one, like Cabin or Study, if you'd rather not notice the loop. The crackling soundtrack is a separate, longer recording, so it repeats far less often than the video.
How much data and battery does it use?
Each scene is an HD video, roughly 1–22 MB depending on length, that downloads once and then loops from your device without downloading again. Switching scenes downloads the new one. Video playback is usually hardware-accelerated, but it's still worth staying plugged in for long sessions on a laptop or phone. The video and sound pause automatically when you switch tabs and pick up again when you come back.
Will my screen fall asleep?
On browsers that support the Screen Wake Lock API, MyFireplaceVideo asks your device to keep the screen on while the fire is visible. Otherwise you may need to adjust your device's sleep settings.
Can I fall asleep to the fireplace sounds?
Yes. Set the sleep timer for 15, 30, 60 or 90 minutes. The video and sound stay at full strength until the last 30 seconds, then the crackling fades out and the screen fades to near-black.
Can I use MyFireplaceVideo as a background for streams or video calls?
